Andhra Pradesh-Hyderabad
By K. Srinivas Reddy
Web-based inquiries reveal hacker group targeted www.aptelecom.gov.in on Friday morning and posted its message on the home page. By evening the APERC site with IP address 210.212.219.130, also fell to the same group. While the telecom website was taken off the server immediately after the defacement, the APERC site continued to have the defaced homepage. The APERC site deals with Regulatory Information System (RIS) and can be accessed only by authorised personnel. Incidentally, hacker groups were found to be hyperactive on Friday attacking important Indian websites. Perhaps to coincide with the arrival of Ankit Fadia, the teenaged ethical hacker, to Hyderabad on Saturday, `The Bugz' hacked the website of the famous XLRI, the business management college and posted anti-India messages. In its message on defaced homepage of www.xlri.ac.in `The Bugz' maintained that it was being paid by Pakistan to hack Indian sites. The message ridiculed Mr. Fadia and greeted all over anti-Indian hackers. The XLRI which stands for Xavier Labour Relations Institute is based in Jamshedpur of Bihar. Meanwhile, another hacker group `Digital Lords' struck the website of the Directorate of Public Relations, Government of Chattisgarh. The homepage of www.dprchhattisgarh.org was totally vandalised though no anti-India messages were posted. The other sites attacked were www.ushacomm.co.in, ircot.railnet.gov.in and nfr.railnet.gov.in.
