Andhra Pradesh
By Our Special Correspondent
Rebutting criticism on this score by the Congress spokesperson, K. Rosaiah, the TDP said the seven parameters chosen by the survey were insufficient to depict the correct picture since Hyderabad was the `best-lit city', had excellent roads and had bagged the clean city award for three years. The ranking criteria included communications, private finance, road transport, professional education, hotel infrastructure, city economy and overall rating. The TDP spokesman, R. Chandrasekhar Reddy, told reporters here today that the infrastructure in Hyderabad had improved to such a great extent that the city bore no comparison to what it was before N. Chandrababu Naidu took over as Chief Minister. Otherwise, it would not have attracted institutions like the Indian School of Business (ISB). Accusing the Opposition parties of vying with one another to run down the Government's achievements at a time when the State was passing through a severe drought, he appealed to them to shed this negativism and join the Government's efforts to alleviate the people's sufferings. The Government would readily accept suggestions to rectify any shortcomings in drought-relief measures, he added.
