Arrested Before Press Meet

Mr. V. G. Deshpande, General Secretary of the Hindu Mahasabha, and Mr. U. S. Trivedi, Treasurer of the Bharatiya Jan Sangh, were taken into custody from the residence of their host in Jullundur minutes before they were to address a Press Conference. The two who had had planned to enter Jammu defying a ban to go there, were held under the Preventive Detention Act.
