Racing : Motor
Riding a RM-125 in the three events, the 22-year-old Vijayakumar won the 125cc category with consummate ease. He shot into the lead early in the 10-lap race and maintained it throughout. The Bangalore-based Vijayakumar was equally dominating in the 250cc and Open classes, which he also turned into start-to-finish affairs. Organised by the Nuwara Eliya Motor Racing Club in the hill country situated at an altitude of 6400 ft above sea level, the track was 773m long with several steep jumps. "I have fallen in love with this place and the crowd. They are so supportive; it is as though you are racing in India. I won because my bike was superb and handled extremely well... " said Vijayakumar.
