Amritinder in lead

CHANDIGARH APRIL 17. Asian PGA Tour regular Amritinder Singh compiled an opening round of five-under 67 and led the field by two strokes after the first round of the Rs. 10 lakh Hero golf Chandigarh Open here on Thursday.

Defending champion Arjun Singh, Kolkatan Rahil Gangjee and Hero Honda Masters champion Harmeet Kahlon were tied second with a card of 69 each.

Delhi's Karanvir Singh led the amateurs posting a card of 73. Anitya Chand and Ajitesh Sandhu were a stroke behind.

The scores: Amritinder Singh 67; Arjun Singh, Harmeet Kahlon and Rahil Gangjee 69; Amandeep Johl, Rohtas Singh, Jaiveer Virk and Bhoop Singh 70; Ajay Gupta, Mohammed Khokhan, Rahul Ganapathy, Shiv Prakash and Vishal Singh 71. Amateurs: Karanvir Singh 73, Anitya Chand and Ajitesh Sandhu 74.
