Hussain, who gave up the one-day captaincy after England's early exit from the World Cup, never indicated to relinquish his Test skipper role. The selectors have yet to name a one-day captain but Yorkshire's Michael Vaughan is the front-runner for the position. The others who are in the running are Marcus Trescothick, Ashley Giles and former captain Adam Hollioake. ECB further confirmed that it would not name the new one-day captain until the end of April.
