The results of the professional courses entrance examinations will be released on May 4. The results of the higher secondary examinations held by the State Government are expected on May 17. As of now, the single-window matrix is expected to comprise about 45,000 seats in 232 engineering colleges (out of a total of around 72,000 seats). The first meeting of the committee, held here under the chairmanship of the Anna University Vice-Chancellor, E. Balagurusamy, finalised the TNEA schedule for the year, commencing with the publication of the TNCPEE results. The notification calling for applications for admissions to B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch through the single-window system would be released on May 11. Applications would be issued from May 14. June 4 would be the last date for receipt of filled-in applications. The TNEA rank list would be published on June 15 and the special reservation list on June 21. Counselling would be held from June 23 to July 20. Classes in affiliated institutions would begin on August 4. The TNEA application would cost Rs.500 (Rs.300 for Tamil Nadu SC/ST). According to a senior official in the Education department, the total number of seats is expected to go up, as the Madras High Court has ordered grant of provisional affiliation to over two dozen new engineering colleges.
