Rama Seva Mandali launches website

BANGALORE April 11. The Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, inaugurated the website of the Bangalore-based Sri Rama Seva Mandali, a prestigious institution, on the occasion of its 65th anniversary.

Commending the organisation for the quality of the classical music programmes conducted by it, Mr. Krishna said it had set a tradition of its own and should become a launching pad for talented artistes.

He recalled that he had listened to M.S. Subbulakshmi's concert at a Sri Ramanavami programme, which was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister, Kengal Hanumanthaiya, he added.

The first Administrator of the Bangalore City Corporation and President of the mandali, N. Lakshman Rau, welcomed the gathering.

The Secretary, Kannada and Culture, C.S. Kedar, released a souvenir.

The Union Minister for Urban Development, Ananth Kumar, presided.

The Chief Minister felicitated Mr. Lakshman Rau, the mandali Vice-President, G.K. Srinivasa Iyer, and the Managing Director of Cauvery Creations, K.N. Hari Kumar, on the occasion.

The 65th Sri Ramanavami Music Festival started with a concert by the saxophonist, Kadri Gopalanath.
