Racing : Motor
Eddie Jordan, Fisichella's boss, announced the decision following a meeting of the governing body of motorsports. Raikkonen had previously been crowned winner of the rain-marred Brazilian Grand Prix, run on Sunday at Interlagos. The race was stopped in what appeared to be the 55th lap, when Spanish driver Fernando Alonso crashed into wreckage left by Australian driver Mark Webber. Jordan driver Fisichella was leading at that stage, but under an official countback procedure, Raikkonen was declared winner because he had been in front two laps before the race was halted. But after review, the FIA said on Friday that Fisichella had in fact won, said Jordan. The decision meant Raikkonen now has 24 points, instead of 26, in the overall standings. Fisichella has 10 points, moving into fifth place overall. AP
