SARS virus identified

WASHINGTON APRIL 11. Scientists today said they had identified the virus behind the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) — the deadly illness spreading worldwide — and proposed naming it after the doctor who first identified the disease and later became a victim. The coronavirus, a relative of one of the many viruses that cause the common cold, is new to humans, two research teams reported in the New England Journal of Medicine.
