Under the MoU signed between the two organisations, BSI will provide VIT its "Ozone Enterprise Portal software". The software, which is otherwise a paid offering available to commercial organisations, can now be installed in the VIT campus server and be used for VIT's educational activities and research work. VIT will also open extensions of its Centres of Competencies in the Institute to share knowledge base and research work. The collaboration would help BSI to pick up the best students. The company would also be an active participant in curriculum development of VIT. According to the VIT Chancellor, G. Viswanathan, the institute students would not get exposure to working in a leading software company. A company release quoted its Managing Director, Parmod Bhalla, as saying that an increasing number of clients were seeking dedicated facilities for product development and related activities. The focus was both on technical skills and a good educational background. At the same time, it was essential to have low cost engineering education. The collaboration with VIT would help the company in fulfilling key business requirements.
