Forest dept. workers to stage dharna

Pondicherry April 6. The workers engaged on daily wage basis in the Department of Forests here would stage a dharna in front of the Assembly tomorrow demanding hike in wages.

R Saravanan, secretary of the Association of Workers said in a communication that the Agriculture Minister had promised them during last session of the Assembly that they would be paid a revised wage of Rs.127 a day. But nothing had been done to implement the assurance.
