At a press conference here yesterday, the temple committee president, V. Radhakrishnan Nair, and the secretary, G. Sathyaraj, said that 52 tuskers would participate in the event, which would commence at 5.30 p.m. The pooram would be followed by a fireworks display. The annual ten-day festival would begin from April 7 with the traditional flag hoisting at 10.32 a.m. One of the highlights of the festival is the staging of Kathakali on all days. The `Vishu Kani' ritual would begin at 4 a.m. on April 15 to be followed by the Kanivela 6 a.m. The traditional Vishu sadya would commence at 10.30 a.m. The `anayoottu' ritual in which devotees feed the tuskers would be held from 12 noon on April 16.
