The formal approval of the Chief Wildlife Warden of the state, Anup Bhalla has already been obtained in this regard, since he was the only authorised person to pass an order for killing any troubled wild animal in the state, a top forest department official told PTI here. He said the two elephants have developed a ``killer instinct and have been deliberately killing people, ripping their bodies apart''. Services of markmen from Orissa have been sought in this regard, he said adding that the elephants were moving within 350 sq kms forest areas. Meanwhile, the state has sought co-operation of Karnataka to capture the rest of the elephants. Initially, the government was not keen to kill them. Later on the advise of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF) R C Sharma, a Rs 36 lakh agreement was signed with Parvati Barua for capturing the wild elephants and train them. However, the ``operation elephant'' ran into rough weather after an elephant died due to alleged ``torture'' and ``negligence'' of Barua, who also failed to capture the two rampaging tuskers. -- PTI
