Himachal Pradesh
By Our Special Correspondent
Mr. Kumar had been at the receiving end after he publicly commented that the now-ousted Dhumal Government in Himachal Pradesh had not been able to live up to its promise of delivering a clean government. He had also said that the people voted against the BJP because they were unhappy with the Dhumal Government's performance. Following this, Mr. Kumar was asked to give an explanation in writing, which he did recently. But the party president, Venkaiah Naidu, has refused to divulge the contents of the same saying that the issue would be discussed at the party's national executive committee meeting in Indore beginning April 4. However, broad hints have come from party leaders that no further action may be taken against Mr. Kumar. It seems that Mr. Kumar had given a long list of political omissions and commissions on the part of the former Chief Minister, P.K. Dhumal.
