Food for children on trains

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI MARCH 21. Children below five years are in for preferential treatment when they are travelling by the Rajdhani or the Shatabdi Express trains. The Railway Ministry has directed the zonal railways to ensure provision of baby food free of charge to them in these trains. The free food includes branded baby food items and items covered in standard menu, such as fresh fruit, bread, milk, biscuits and cornflakes.

In the case of departmental catering in these trains, the cost of the food will be borne by the railways and if the services are rendered by a private licensee, the cost will be borne by such a licensee with no reimbursement by the Railways.
