Vinoo Mammen MRF's new CMD

CHENNAI MARCH 5. The board of MRF Ltd. today re-designated K.M.Vinoo Mammen, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, as the Chairman and Managing Director of the company.

The re-designation was necessitated by the demise of his father and CMD of the company K.M.Mammen Mappillai.

The board condoled the passing away of Mammen Mappillai and took on record his extraordinary leadership abilities. The board was convinced that Mappillai was the motivating force behind the huge success of MRF.

Born in 1949, Mr. Vinoo Mammen graduated from the Madras Christian College. Later, he moved to the U.S. for training course at The Mansfield Tire & Rubber Co., the erstwhile collaborator of MRF. He joined the company as a whole-time director in 1981. He became the Vice-Chairman and Managing Director in 1986. He takes over the MRF baton at a time when the world around is undergoing a rapid metamorphosis. There will be more than a cursory interest by all stakeholders on how he manages the change, keeps the leadership slot in tact and pilots the organisation.
