Exide launches battery with life warranty

CHENNAI MARCH 5 . Exide Industries unveiled today a life-long warranteed car battery, Eternity. The battery features fire resistant gas filters, double side channel venting, cold forged terminal inserts, smart battery indicator, high temperature endurance, non-spillable container, special alloy and corrosion resistance.

The battery also offers a maintenance free commitment and comes with a high charge retention and shelf life. Launching the battery, P. K. Kataky, President, Exide Auto Trade, said this life warranteed battery priced at Rs. 4,700 would be available through exclusive dealer network.

The battery is expected to be launched only in the replacement market and is now available for use in Maruti (all models), Daewoo Matiz, Hyundai Santro and Honda City (petrol).

The selective launch was due to making available the Batmobile service to offer regular checking of the battery and vehicle electrical units. Eternity also provides access to the largest dealer network across India and entitles the owner to an exclusive `club eternity,' , Mr. Kataky said.
