Pensioners asked to submit certificates

By Our Special Correspondent

Bangalore March 5. All pensioners coming under the Employees Pension Scheme administered by the Employees Provident Fund Organisation, including members, widow/widower pensioners, children and orphan pensioners are required to submit life certificates and non-marriage certificates on November 1 every year.

The certificates are to be submitted to the banks through which the pension is being paid.

As a large number of pensioners were yet to submit the certificates, their pension had been held up from December 2002, a press release said.

Blank certificate formats had been issued to banks, and the pensioners requested to use them.

Instructions were also given to managers of Canara Bank, Syndicate Bank, State Bank of India, and State Bank of Mysore through which pension is paid to collect and forward the certificates.

All pensioners have been asked submit the certificates before March 10 to enable release of their pension.
