By Our Staff Correspondent

JAIPUR FEB. 19. The Union Government has cleared projects worth Rs. 160 crores, submitted by the Rajasthan Government under the Prime Minister's Gram Sadak Yojana, formulated for linking of 411 villages with roads.

The Public Works Department (PWD) secretary, Ram Lubhaya, said here today that against an allocation of Rs. 130 crores for 2002-03, the State Government had submitted proposals for Rs. 160 crores, including the proposals against savings of Rs. 30 crores in the funds sanctioned last year.

Mr. Ram Lubhaya had attended a meeting of the empowered committee on the Gram Sadak Yojana, held under the chairmanship of the Union Rural Development Secretary in New Delhi.

The meeting was informed that Rajasthan, being the leading State in the country in the implementation of the PM's Gram Sadak Yojana, was in a position to incur more expenditure than other States.
