World Cup
Mortaza, 19, suffered a freak injury when he twisted his right ankle during Monday's net session. But the gravity of the injury was revealed only after X-rays revealed a bad ligament tear that requires surgery. ``Mashrafee might be out of action for three months and we've sought that Akram Khan be allowed to join the squad,'' Faruque told AP. The twisted ankle was a big blow to Bangladesh's leading seam bowler, who made his comeback in the World Cup after being sidelined for a year with a back strain and leg injury. ``Mashrafee will stay in South Africa as the orthopedic surgeon wants to observe him for five days before deciding whether or not he should be operated upon,'' Faruque said.
