Plea to cricket fans

Anjum Chopra, captain of the Indian women's cricket team, appealed to the people not to indulge in attacking the houses of the cricketers, currently playing World Cup matches in South Africa, if they failed to meet their expectations.

"After all it is just a game of cricket and one should not attach so much emotional importance to a game," said Anjum, condemning the attack at the residence of Mohammed Kaif in Allahabad.

"It is very sad and really unfair. The culprits should be punished," said Anjum, a left- hander like Sourav Ganguly, the men's team captain.
