Speaking to presspersons, he said the State Government had asked the Centre to send personnel experienced in jungle warfare and who could search and nab the brigand. Mr. Kharge said that the team of officers led by the Additional Chief Secretary, Adhip Choudhury, had sought from the Centre weapons, a helicopter, and other things required for operations in the forests. On the response of the Centre to the request by the Chief Minister, S.M.Krishna, that Central forces should lead the operations, Mr. Kharge said it was awaited. The minister said he had no information on the joint operation by the Navy and the Coast Guard against three private ships in the Arabian Sea for allegedly carrying explosives. On the notings by a sub-inspector of police in a diary stating that he had been threatened by some people if he disclosed details on the Mysore episode, Mr. Kharge said that the judges' committee appointed by the Chief Justice of India would go into the details.
