Judges' panel hearing today

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE JAN. 3. The Judges' Committee appointed by the Chief Justice of India to probe the Mysore episode will resume hearing the witnesses summoned by it in Bangalore on Saturday.

The committee, which comprises Justice C.K. Thakker, Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, Justice J.L. Gupta, Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court, and Justice A.K. Patnaik, Judge, Orissa High Court, had heard 11 persons on December 15 in Bangalore in connection with the episode. The committee has summoned six personnel from Vijayanagar Police Station, Mysore, and four employees of a resort in Mysore. The resort comes in Vijayanagar Police Station limits.

The police personnel included the Inspector of Police, Marikale Gowda, the sub-inspector, Cheluva Shetty, and four constables. They have been summoned in the light of the contents of the Station Diary written by Mr. Shetty becoming public. Mr. Shetty has accused the inspector of compelling him to suppress the alleged incident. The diary will be produced before the committee by the police inspector.
