CHENNAI: Novo Nordisk India, world leader in diabetes care, announced that it was reducing the prices of its locally filled human insulin vials (40 iu) by about Rs. 50 to Rs. 145 in India. This had been done keeping in mind the abiding philosophy of the company that access to diabetes therapy must improve, especially in the developing world, according to its managing director Anil Kapur. Since 1998 the company had not increased the prices of its insulin despite competitors constantly doing so, Dr. Kapur has stated in a release.
