Stand on Kashmir unchanged: Iran

By Our Diplomatic Correspondent

NEW DELHI Dec. 30 . Iran today underlined that there had been no change in its position on the Kashmir issue. A statement from the Iranian Embassy this evening said that Teheran was in favour of a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue between India and Pakistan "on the basis of the wishes of the people of Kashmir.''

The statement was in response to the "baseless statements'' ascribed to the Iranian President, Syed Mohammad Khatami, about the Kashmir issue, during his recent visit to Pakistan, which were published in a section of the press.
