Ansari granted bail

Kolkata Dec. 27. Aftab Ansari — prime accused in the American Center attack and the Parthapratim Roy Burman kidnap case — and seven others were granted bail today in a case relating to an alleged assault on the Presidency Jail warden.

They were produced before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, S. C. Mishra, for the alleged assault on November 8. According to the prosecution, the accused refused to allow the warden, Pradip Majumdar, to conduct a security check on them before they left for the city sessions court for a hearing in the American Center attack case, and assaulted him.
