Cricket
Pakistan was 120 for eight in reply to South Africa's 368 when bad light stopped play. Opening batsmen Taufeeq Umar and Salim Elahi gave Pakistan a solid start, putting on 77 and setting up an ideal situation for the touring team's strong middle-order. But then eight wickets fell for just 43 runs, leaving Pakistan facing a battle to avoid the follow-on, which is still 49 runs away. Earlier, South Africa's batting was underpinned by a solid half-century by vice-captain Mark Boucher, who held the innings together after the early loss of century-maker Jacques Kallis. When Boucher was on 31 he reached 2000 runs in Test cricket. SCOREBOARD
