New Year gift to red cardholders

Pondicherry Dec. 27. The Director of the Civil Supplies and Consumer Welfare department, R. Ramachandran, said here today that red colour cardholders (Below Poverty Line) would be given 35 kg rice from January 1, 2003. Fifteen kg rice would be given at a cost of Rs. 4 a kg and the remaining 20 kg at Rs. 6 a kg.
