The Khanapur CI, Uday Kumar Reddy, said that two unidentified men, clad in lungis, came to the MDO office and woke up the watchman Rahim. The watchman was threatened and forcibly taken outside the office. The naxals then placed landmine and drew the wire to some distance and triggered the blast. The office furniture, windows and doors were damaged in the blast. The building, located on the outskirts of the town towards Nirmal road, suffered cracks. The building is about two km from the police station.
