Digvijay, Mukesh card day's best

CHENNAI DEC. 27. Digvijay Singh remained in front with a three-under 67, which put him five strokes ahead (total 131) of the rest at the halfway stage on Friday of the Rs. 8 lakh Royal Challenge Grand Prix, being held at the Madras Gymkhana Golf Course, here on Friday.

Meanwhile, Mukesh Kumar matched Digvijay's score to move up the ladder with an overall tally of four-under 136 and tie for the second place with Feroz Ali, Sanjay Kumar, S. Murthy and D.S. Raghuvanshi.

Among the amateurs, the local challenger, Sandeep Syal, currently on holiday from the U.S., remains in lead with a level-par 140. He followed his first round 72 with a 68 today and has an eight stroke lead over B. Gurunath, who came in with a six-over 76, taking his two-day total to eight-over-par 148.
