Rupee firms up

MUMBAI DEC. 27. Despite light month-end pressures, the rupee firmed up against the US currency today on the back of healthy dollar supplies in moderately active two-way trade at the interbank foreign exchange market. Closing at Rs. 47.99/9950 a dollar, the rupee gained three paise from yesterday's close of Rs. 48.02/0250 after dipping to early intraday lows of Rs. 48.03/04.
