Police move spreads alarm

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM DEC. 22. Many an unwary citizen on the Secretariat-General Hospital stretch were put to trouble with the police commencing what was intended as a trouble-shooting drive ahead of the Christmas-New Year season.

The police interference in the area spread alarm among a sizeable shopping community, including women and children.

According to Cantonment police, the police look-out was in accordance with directives from higher officials to ensure a trouble-free season of festivity and not intended to cause problems for the public.
