Residents urged not to dump garbage in nalas

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD Dec. 22. The Mayor, T. Krishna Reddy, and senior officials of the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) on Saturday made a fervent appeal asking residents to use garbage bins and not dump garbage in nalas as they were getting clogged.

The Mayor on Saturday said that an action plan to clean the 311 nalas extending to about 80 km in and around the twin cities, would be taken up soon with technological assistance from Malaysia. After the operation, sewage water would move swiftly and without breaks, he said.

He was speaking to presspersons after going around some parts of the city as part of the 50th round of `Clean and green' programme. He inspected nala clearance work at the Bolanagar Nala in Khaja Nagar, adjacent to Masab Tank.
