Dhumal launches 'Viswas Yatra'

Manali Dec.22. Buoyed by the Gujarat Assembly poll outcome, the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, P.K. Dhumal, today virtually launched the BJP's campaign for the coming Assembly polls in the State, as he embarked on a month-long ``Viswas Yatra'' focussing on developmental issues and attacking the Opposition Congress for ``neglecting'' the State's welfare.

After paying obeisance at the famous temple of Goddess Handimba, Mr. Dhumal boarded a specially-designed chariot for the Yatra that would take him across the 68 Assembly constituencies, highlighting the achievements of his government. Before starting the yatra, Mr. Dhumal also laid the foundation stone of a mini secretariat building to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 4.54 crores.
