G.K. Lokare is dead

GULBARGA Dec. 22. The Gulbarga Divisional Commissioner, G.K.Lokare, died in a private hospital in Bangalore today following a brief illness.

He was 45, and is survived by wife and four daughters.

Dr. Lokare belonged to the 1981 batch of the IAS.

He served as Secretary (Revenue), Director, Employment Directorate, Divisional Commissioner at Mysore before being posted here. Dr. Lokare also served as Deputy Commissioner here.

The Chief Minister, S.M.Krishna, the Home Minister, Mallikarjun Kharge, and the Public Works Minister, Dharam Singh, have condoled the death of Dr. Lokare.

The IAS Officers' Association, which had arranged a dinner meeting in honour of the outgoing Chief Secretary, A.Ravindra, in Bangalore today, cancelled it following the death of Dr. Lokare.
