For the second consecutive day, new Games records were set in all the eight races. The technical officials say that this was primarily because of the Denmark equipment costing Rs.50 lakhs procured by the State Government for the Games. B.Srimathi of Andaman & Nicobar won the K-1 gold with a record timing of 43.77 eclipsing the previous best of 46.79 while K.Minimol of Kerala (44.00) and Smitha Assis of Andhra Pradesh (45.24) settling for silver and bronze. Later, B.Srimathi combined well with Abha Manjula, Mika John and N.Solomie to win the gold for Andaman & Nicobar in the K-4 race with another record timing of 38.52 erasing the previous best of 41.26. Kerala and Andhra Pradesh picked the silver with 38.63 and 40.06 timings respectively. Services won three of the eight golds at stake in the 200 m events while Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar and Kerala picked two golds each. For the host the lone gold came from M.Sanjit Singh in the C-1 200 m race with another record effort of 41.25 (previous best was 46.52). The results: All finals: 200 m: Men: C-1: 1. Kerala (D.V.S.Negi & Surender Banwal), 3. Delhi (Suresh Kumar & Mahesh Yadav). K-4: 1. SSCB (Karma Toppo, Surender Baniwal, Rahul Arora, Prajosh) 29.77, 2. Andhra Pradesh (Lateesh, Jayesh, Jojiappan, Srijit), 3. Karnataka (Saji Thomas, M.M.Biju, L.Ashok, Saw Kalyan). Women: K-1: B.Srimathi (A & N) 43.77, 2. K.Minimol (Ker), 3. Smitha Assis (AP).
