Letters to the Editor
Sir, This refers to the news report, `Free small sector from `inspector raj': PM' (Dec. 21). India needs a large number of small businesses instead of a small number of large businesses, if the country has to prosper. Small businesses have been the victims of the corrupt `inspector raj'. A significant amount of their tiny margins often goes to paying monetary gratification of the inspectors. I hope that the Prime Minister will soon ensure the removal of laws made for the bureaucrats, of the bureaucrats and by the bureaucrats. Ramu S., Chennai
