The winter session of the two houses of the legislature got underway on December 11 and even before this tip-off, security had been beefed up by putting up more barriers and making stringent checks. Now, the security was more stringent and every vehicle, including that of MLAs, MLCs and Ministers, was being checked more thoroughly, apparently with the sanction of the presiding officers. Some 5,000 additional security personnel had been sent to Nagpur. The new threat has added to the stress of the security personnel.
