Mahesh to partner Joshua

BANGALORE Dec. 16. The Indian tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi will partner Joshua Eagle of Australia in the 2003 season.

Disclosing this to The Hindu, Mahesh said : "Eagle will be my new partner for the season as Max Mirnyi wishes to concentrate lot more on singles''.

Mahesh and Max Mirnyi of Belarus, forged a very successful combination in 2002 after Mahesh and Leander Paes ended their partnership in the aftermath of poor run in 2001 season.

Mahesh said that he will be partnering Todd Woodbridge of Australia in the Tata Open at Chennai, which will be his first ATP event, after his recent wedding.

Mahesh also stressed the need for India to get back into World Group . "It is a pity we are out of it and we should work towards getting back into that league.We have tough tie against Japan in the coming season'' , said Mahesh . He also confirmed his availability for the Davis Cup ties, but strictly in doubles.
