With seven BJP candidates and four Congress candidates emerging triumphant, the strength of women in the Assembly has increased to 11 as against a meagre five in the previous House. The Education Minister, Anandiben Patel, and the Minister of State for Roads and Buildings, Jasumatiben Korat, have retained their seats. The BJP had fielded 11 women candidates and the Congress ten.
