Addressing the "Hindu Dharm Raksha Sammelan" to mark the 10th anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition, the VHP joint general secretary, Onkar Bhave, said Mr. Vajpayee was indulging in doublespeak.
And, Mr. Advani "is making empty statements about fighting a shadow war against terrorism for the last 20 years".
"These statements have encouraged the terrorists and, as a result, Parliament, the Red Fort and Hindu temples were attacked," Mr. Bhave said. He accused both Mr. Vajpayee and Mr. Advani of not espousing the cause of Hindu community.
Charging the NDA Government with failing to contain terrorism, he said the Centre had withdrawn troops from the border under U.S. "pressure" and such a policy was not in the interest of the nation.
"It will be better if this Government left office if it cannot safeguard national dignity and honour," he added.
