BRAOU launches tele-conferencing

HYDERABAD Nov. 16. Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) has started Tele-Conferencing Programmes through Mana T.V. (Interactive Channel-II) launched by the State Government.

Presently, the university was providing interactive counselling to the students for professional courses such as Management (MBA) and Library Science every Sunday between 11 a.m. to 12 noon, 12.15 p.m. to 1.15 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.

V.Venkaiah, executive director, GRADE, Y. S. Kiranmayi, Dean, faculty of commerce, BRAOU and U. Balaji, vice-president, Satyam Computers will participate in the programme, according to a press release.

Details on programmes offered, admission procedure, conduct of examination and student support services were also being provided through this channel on regular basis, the university informed in a press release.

The Government also installed a toll-free telephone facility and students from all the district headquarters Study Centres can interact live with experts. The toll-free telephone numbers are 1600 334038 and 1600 334039.

Hindi Foundation Course

The university will also organise a live tele-conferencing programme on `Prem Chand Ki Kahani Kafan' for the first year Hindi Foundation Course students of the university on November 17 through DD-8 channel from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

T. Mohan Singh and Manikyamba of Osmania University and Yashwant Jadhao of BRAOU, will participate in the tele-conferencing. The BRAOU students can interact with the Resource Persons on telephone numbers: 040-7031431, 040-7031432, 040- 7031433 on Sunday during the mentioned timing.

Tele-conference for principals

The Centre for Staff Training and Development (CSTD) will organise interactive tele-conference for principals and co-ordinators of the BRAOU for providing training inputs. P. Narsaiah, director, CSTD and U. Subba Rao, director, Student Service, will participate in the session.
