New traffic regulation from Monday

Pondicherry Nov. 16. The traffic wing of the Pondicherry police will enforce a new one-way system on thoroughfares here from November 18 to ensure smooth flow of traffic and bring down congestion.

A communication from the Senior Superintendent of Police (Law and Order) said that the stretch of the Cathedral street (Mission street) between Lal Bahadhur Sastri street and S. V. P. Patel Salai would be one way from north to south for all vehicles. Vehicles should be parked on the western side of the Cathedral street. The stretch of the Mahatma Gandhi Road from Ajantha square to Lal Bahadhur Sastri street junction would be one way from south to north and vehicles parking would be permitted on the western side of the road.

The SSP said that the stretches of Vallalar Salai between Anna Salai junction and Kamaraj Salai would be one way from East to west and north to south and parking would be permitted on the northern side between Anna Salai-Vallalar Salai junction and Nadhan Kalyana Mandapam junction and on the western side from the kalyana mandapam to Vallalar Salai-Kamaraj Salai junction.

The stretches between Vallalar and Kamaraj Salai and Pattanikadai junction will be one way from west to east for all vehicles and one side parking is being adopted at the southern side of the Kamaraj Salai. The stretch of Sinna Subbaraya Pillai Street between Lal Bahadhur Sastri Street and Subbiah salai would be one way from north to south and parking slots would be available on the western side of the S S Pillai stret.

Similarly the stretch of Subbiah salai from Anna square to S S Pillai street junction would be one way from south to north and parking would be permitted on the western side of Subbiah Salai would be created.

The stretch of Bharathi street from Rangapillai to Ambalathadiar madam streets would be one way from south to north and parking slots on the eastern side of Bharathi street. The stretch of Sinna Subbaraya Pillai street between Rangapillai street and Ambalathadiar Madam street would be one way from north to south and parking would be on the western side of S S Pillai street.
