KATHMANDU NOV. 16. Security forces in Nepal have gunned down 27 Maoist rebels in the continuing operations against terror after the rebels left more than 175 people, mostly security personnel, dead in separate attacks in the past two days.

Eleven armed rebels were shot dead in Jumla, Bara and Kailali districts during separate encounters, an official said.

Sixteen more Maoists were killed as the troops launched blocking and search operations to hunt the insurgents after Thursday's massive terror attack in Jumla district, Radio Nepal said quoting local sources. Nine of them were killed in Tamti area and seven in Kudari area of the district.
