Bommai calls on Hegde

Bangalore Nov. 16. The former Union Minister and senior JD(S) leader, S.R. Bommai, who has been vested with the responsibility of working out a formula for the merger of the JD(S) and the JD(U), today called on the former Chief Minister and JD(U) supremo, Ramakrishna Hegde.

Mr. Bommai called on Mr. Hegde to discuss certain aspects of the formula before talking to the former Prime Minister, H.D. Deve Gowda, and seeking his concurrence on the matter.

In all likelihood, the merger formula will be ready by the end of this month.

Mr. Bommai will meet Mr. Deve Gowda in New Delhi on Monday to discuss the proposals.
