Four more cholera cases confirmed

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM Nov. 16. Four more cholera cases were confirmed from the suburbs on Friday taking the total number of positive cases detected since the outbreak of epidemic last month to 33.

Only three cholera patients are still under treatment, according to a press statement from the District Medical Officer, K. Shailaja. Cholera has claimed two lives so far.

The new cases of cholera, include a six-month-old baby. The cases have been reported from Puthiyathura, Poovar and Poonthura.

Incidence of new acute diarrhoeal cases registered a marked drop on Friday with only 15 cases reporting for treatment at various hospitals and health centres in the district.
