Leaders pay homage

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM Nov. 14. Political leaders, administrators and people from different other spheres of life have condoled the death of E. M. Sreedharan.

In a condolence message, the Chief Minister, A. K. Antony, described him as one who had shown total dedication in all the jobs he had undertaken. The Leader of the Opposition, V. S. Achuthanandan, said in a separate message that Sreedharan's death was a loss for the CPI(M) and the progressive movement in Kerala.

The Industries Minister, P. K. Kunhalikutty, the Information and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, M. M. Hassan, the Culture Minister, G. Karthikeyan, the Water Resources Minister, T. M. Jacob, the Finance Minister, K. Sankaranarayanan and the Electricity Minister, K. Sivadasan, also condoled his death.

The CPI(M) State committee said Sreedharan had died at a time when his presence was most needed on the party's campaign front. The party State secretary, Pinarayi Vijayan, the CPI State secretary, Veliyam Bhargavan, the former Chief Minister, P. K. Vasudevan Nair, the KPCC president, K. Muralidharan, the LDF convener, Paloli Mohammed Kutty, the BJP State president, C. K. Padmanabhan, and the RSP(B) State secretary, A. V. Thamarakshan, also condoled his death.
