Junior doctors on strike

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD Nov. 14. The A. P. Junior Doctors Association (APJDA) has commenced its indefinite strike from today demanding a written assurance from the Government for withdrawing the Government Orders for compulsory Government service for post-graduates.

A press release by the Association said students in all Government medical colleges in the State boycotted classes and joined the agitation. The students took out rallies wearing black badges in Osmania and Gandhi hospitals.

The Association said junior doctors would attend all emergencies till November 17 after which they would abstain from all postings. Meanwhile, the APJDA office-bearers held discussions with the Health Minister, Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, on Wednesday evening but there was no end to the stalemate.
