Headload workers to strike work

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM NOV. 10. Headload workers owing allegiance to various Central trade unions will go on a 48-hour strike from November 10 midnight.

The strike has been called to press for repeal of the Kerala Loading and Unloading (Regulation of Wages and Restriction of Unlawful Practices) Act.

The unions that have given the call for the strike are CITU, AITUC, BMS and UTUC.

The workers' unions in the sector have decided to hold panchayat and taluk-level rallies all over the State besides a march to the Secretariat here tomorrow.
